okay, so i have a couple hundred of each, and don't know squat about them... need to know what's important to mention (other than condition, obviously) about them, how to organize them. i don't want to leave out anything important and have the buyer upset!

okay, so for the dbz cardgame...

they are all numbered in the upper right corner, so i was just going to put them in numerical order, but then i see that there are different colors for each number. so, i organized them into colors - black, blue, orange, red, green, and, uhhh, namekian (some oddball blue-green color.) okay, so then i put each of the color stacks in numerical order... and find that some number STILL have two different cards (like, black #1 i have "black belt power hit" and "black explosion.") so now i'm completely confused. i REALLY don't want to type out the name of every single freakin card (but i will if i have to.) then, there are several different icons in the bottom left corner, some with numbers (like "11 of 48") in addition to the number in the upper right. is that the correct way to organize them? are they all even for the same game?

also, would people be most likely interested in all of them, or only some (like, would people only want to buy orange cards or something?)

and finally, there are a dozen or so that are foil/holographic - is there a special name for these cards? do they get mixed in with their respective color types, are they separate... how do they fit into the organization?

okay, now the yu-gi-oh trading card game... i see there are four different colors of cards, so i got them sorted that way. now, is alphabetical order by card title the way to go after that, or should i use the tiny 8-digit number in the bottom left corner? also, there are a few cards with just the title in holographic silver, and a few with just the picture in holographic stuff... important? if so, what do i call them? and then there are a couple of the brown-ish colored ones that are "dark" - the whole card is a couple shades darker - what do i call those?

thanks in advance, because i know SOMEBODY here can help me ;)

Welfare, I'd love to respond to your post, but I think I'd need a Belt of Nerdery + 5 just to even understand what the hell you're talking about.

Yeah... been awhile ago.

Eventually gave up on it because I just didn't wanna keep spending big $$$ with a new set coming out every 3 - 6 weeks.

Kids today just have too much disposable income with no BILLS to pay. :hmm:

:hihi: well, jenny saved me from having to deal with listing the yu-gi-oh cards... man, my belt of nerdery must be some cheap-azz +3, because i read through them and can't figure out which end is up... i'm rather terrified that little kids have it all figured out...

HAHA Well, Josh doesn't exactly have it figured out. At least, I don't think he does. lol He just likes to pretend he does. ;)

basically i will assume that it is extremely similar to Magic: The gathering or any other card based game.

There are going to be rare/powerful cards. You want to identify those and sell them seperatly.

There will be super common cards...like mana cards. I doubt those will sell at all.

The other will probably have to be sold in groups. By color should be fine, but the people buying them will want to know what cards they are getting...and typing out the names is the best way to sell them on ebay.

Honestly, I know how the system works... however with so many new sets out there it would be VERY hard for me to tell you the value of every card you hold.

Many of the "commons" (non foil) are worth virtually nothing. There are a few that are worth a bit more due to their "Attack power/Def power or special abilities" however generally the non foils are worth diddly...

The foils are generally worth more... however depending on the "rarity" of the card determines it's ultimate value. There are "sellers guides" out there that can tell you the current market value of every card... and some of them can get quite expensive (back in the day... cards like the complete 5 piece original set of Exodia were selling for $300+ but I'm sure it's not worth that much today.)

Pretty much, buying these cards is a "hit/miss" proposition from the packs in the store... you may or may not get lucky and get that special rare that can make a deck super powerful... however many just choose to pay the market rate and just buy the rare cards off of dealers to build their tournament decks.

Honestly, had the tournaments revolved more around "set decks" with only a few additional power up cards... I might've continued playing... however with all the new cards and new special abilities that they gave the newer monsters, it just got to the point where the people with the biggest pocketbooks could rule the tourneys. Pretty much that took most of the fun out of playing the game for me... skill and luck definitely didn't seem as necessary as money was.

sounds like they took a good thing and made it suck.

i never did play magic. actually, the only non-standard-deck card game i've played recently has been lunch money... that plus the sticks and stones expansion deck is $30 shipped from amazon and pretty durned entertaining, as it is basically a framework for trashtalking. eg is getting pretty good at it :P "okay, mom, so i got a grab card, so i can give you cooties - they're crawling all over you EWWWHAHAHAHAHA! - and then i clean your plate. then my imaginary friend pimp slaps you. you fall down. nope, your freedom card doesn't work because i humiliate you - *ahem* YOUUGLYANDYOMAMADRESSESYOUFUNNY! - i think i win. wanna play again?" :hihi:

it's so funny that it doesn't leave me grumpy... like when he kicks my butt at chess *sigh*
