according to the FAQ:

Can I buy one?
No. The TactaPad is not available for sale. Tactiva is currently looking for a company to license the technology and bring the product to market.

How much will it cost?
Since the TactaPad is not in production, it is difficult to quote an exact price. Price will vary depending on the final feature set and dimensions. A rough estimate would be a retail price of about $1000.

seeing as the force feedback stuff on this cool piece of hardware is pretty neat...

i was recently using a haptics program (with a joystick type of hardware) that gives you 3D force feedback, it lets you hand feel textures, through the instrument that you hold in your hand. the instrument (shaped like an pen) is attached to an arm that generates the forcefeedback depending on what you are doing on the screen, this will be very useful in light surgery in the future, and even now. large movements can be scalled down, and all you would need is a robot with some cameras, and tools atached to its arms = precise and fast surgery,

can you imagine if you incorperated this into games, or even warefare ha ha.

this is only the beginig of a huge haptics revolution, i'd say could quicly develope in the next 3 yrs. :)

It's cool and I am glad that they are working on new interfaces, but this one looks like it would cause carpeltunnel pretty quickly. Free floating interface like in Minority Report would be pretty sweet though.

yeah seriously. I can totally see myself getting finger cramps from trying to click, drag, pan, rotate and zoom all at once.

Maybe they will get some backers from the adult industry for further development, eh?

Seriously though, very cool interface. Great to see what is eventually coming down the pipeline for us.
