hey guys... has anyone bought a camera from dell? my best friends is thinking about buying either the canon sd550 or casio exslim ex-z750 or the casio exslim s500. she can't decide... any insight is appreciated.

but a main concern of her's was dell's return policy if the camera isn't working... anyone have any experience with it? Also, is their extended warranty worth it? It seems that it only helps if your normal warranty runs out... anyone have any stories on dell's warranty and if they actually cover anything? thanks guys!! :fro:

Extended warranties are usually not worth it. Check if your credit card offers an extended warranty too. Some have started to drop that feature but it can give you up to one year longer. Service would be through the manufacturer on that. If there is a defect, it usually will show up within the nominal period. I do not know what Dell's present return policy is (I heard it changed) but I have bought my last two cameras from them and Canon is definately one of the best makers.

I had an EX-Z750. Awesome camera. Very very delicate lens mechanism. Turn it on while your finger is on the extending lens and it needs to be sent in for service. Battery lasts a LONG time (I took over 1200 pictures on 1 charge, though many were taken back to back and some were with LCD off). Picture quality is good, very similar to SD500.
