I go to sleep now: locked, cocked, and ready to rock. ...if necessary.

... wow, that's really scary! hopefully the prowlers saw the cops giving extra attention to the neighborhood and have been sufficiently scared off.

btw, that is by far the most compelling argument for a dog vs. cat that I've ever heard - a cat won't double as a prowler alarm!

Yet another use for Judo and paintball guns! (No loaded firearms at my house, I keep them seperate and locked up)

I hope you are safe tonight Obby and hopefully the police catch them.

Mischief Night must be starting several weeks early this year. Someone smashed my sister's car's side window the other night. Hers was one of many in that neighborhood.

On better light this morning, it looked like someone was trying to take the screen off part of the window. They had to get to the window by moving the furniture, and I think the crash I heard was probably the recycling bin tipping over (because like i said it looked like someone was standing on it trying to take the light cover off)...This is an old house-picture windows were not as big as on newer homes, and its pretty easy to open (even though it's locked) once you get through the screen or the storm window (when its' down)

Why don't you get an alarm system? They're not that expensive...right?

that is scary. any news on the other houses in the neighborhood that experienced this, too?

I had one put in-both internal and outdoor-the problem is that it's so sensitive that every time my neighbors let their HUGE dogs outside the alarms go off on a switchboard somewhere, so I pretty much leave it off, and just leave the motion lights on.

just turn on the internal one. That way when one of the doors or windows is broken it'll alert you.
