Ugh. Great...I'm sure this will cause many more shipping problems with my company. Just when I was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

That thing better make a big ass U-turn and head back where it came from. We FINALLY started getting good weather here two days ago, and I'm not ready for it to be gone so soon.

So looking at the possible tracks, I guess Tampa might finally get a storm to call their own?

That's why I never consider moving to the South East.

This one is going to be nasty. Cat 5 now, lowest barometric pressure ever recorded, which means that it will strengthen more. It's expected to weaken by cuba but will probably pick up more steam after.
The only saving grace, right now, is that it is a fast storm. It'll be over FL for less than 10 hours. However, if it hits at a 5+ there will be a lot of damage.
We are talking to steph's mom in Naples, if it is a 4 or 5 when it hits we might have to drive down thurs night to pick her up (she hates driving long distances). The current path takes it right over Naples.

You FL boys better head out now. Shouldn't be taking any chances...
Who are you gonna rely on, yourself or FEMA? :faint: (j/k, j/k)

I think ihad has more to worry about than I do, he's right in the way of the exit path. Although with the cane going over 100mi of land will decrease it's strength quite a bit. Up here in Orlando we have it easlier if it stays south. If.

Good to hear. It will probably weaken before FL (nearly impossible for it to maintain that strength), but could still be a monster.

/me imagines the storm putting on it's "turn signal" and pulling over to the left lane to make a U turn. :heh:

Fluctuations in intensity are likely, but Wilma is forecast to remain an extremely dangerous Category 5 hurricane through Thursday. The projected track of the storm takes it through the Yucatan Channel into the extreme southern Gulf of Mexico Friday night. After that, Wilma is expected to come under the influence of westerly winds aloft blowing across the Gulf. That should hurl the hurricane toward the Florida Peninsula, probably the southern part of the peninsula, this weekend. Wilma is expected to be weakening by then, but weakening is a relative term and Wilma may still be a major hurricane (winds over 110 mph) when it makes landfall.
Doubt it will remain at Cat 5...

Wow. I heard 17X mph winds and rains to match. Is that right? That blows my mind.

I just finished my floors today and my ceiling guy is coming at 4:00 this afternoon.... from Charley. I haven't even moved back into my house from last year. :( Yeesh. This is getting stressful and Texas is looking better all the time.

Yeah, but it's still over water. They usually calm down a bit before landfall.

I was looking at Austin, but then I heard 300k people moved there after Katrina. :(
