I confused!?!
A spider is a websearch "bot" or program created to run through the web and find webpages. When you go to places like Google, it has a short "bio" of the site (the first couple lines of text on the page)...spiders find and update that stuff...and are also responsible for finding new pages that aren't in the search engines yet.

This one just so happens to be named Slurp...why? No idea.

Know what the sad part is? I'm sitting right here next to her yet I'm typing a response to her reply...how lazy am I?

But yeah.. the spiders "slurp" the data on your page (i.e. ingest it) and report back to Yahoo for their search engine.

/me imagines a spider "slurping" down it's prey. <slurp, slurp> AHHHHH!!!! TASTY!!!

Reminds me of the time I was slurping down my (34 oz thermal) mug of coffee at work. I felt a lump of something in my mouth. Took it out, and found a spider that had picked a bad camping spot (in the coffee pot carafe) the night before.
