There's talk of having a G|A get-together again. However, there has been a request for a venue change. We are looking into a possible option of Las Vegas. However, as our organizer, ray :P, has pointed out, there must be a solid confirmation on people's willingness to PAY for, and capability to attend such an event. I agree that the logistics would be a nightmare, that's why i'm so glad ray has "volunteered" to do this.
So we're putting this to a vote:
Where would you like the event to be held this year?
If you choose to vote for LV, please make sure you have enough flexibility in your schedule. don't choose it if you can make LV only on nov __ at 12:37:54pm.
I think I'll leave Irvine on the poll b/c it is a nice "centralized" location for SD individuals to come up as well. We can find the exact location at a later date. (btw, ray, i'll help you if you need the assistance)
if you have a better suggestion, feel free to suggest it. but remember, we're not looking for the exact place, just the general area for now.

As long as I have enough notice, I can make a Vegas get together. I'd probably have to leave before everyone else (I work Sunday nights) but it would still totally be worth it. If the logistics don't work out, I'm open to a SD gathering too.

No offense to everyone here, but I really wouldn't want to spend 4 hours driving for a g|a get-together that would just last a few hours, so I vote no on vegas. Other ideas - we could do something at the Block in Orange, or any of the restaurants (Yardhouse, Crazy Horse, etc) at the Spectrum.

I think officially it would only be a few hours, but like the get togethers themseleves, it would last longer than that, with roving bands of G|A?ers running amok in the innocent lanes of Parump & Vegas :hihi:

While a good time can be had in Tijuana, I can think of alot of bad senerios that could happen to a G|A foo in tha border city.
San Diego sounds great!!!
Maybe at the Old Columbia Brewery's (Karl Strause) downtown location or i think they have a larger one in Sorrento Valley. or maybe people would like Dave and Busters in mission valley, I have never been there, but i hear its a fun place.

For me, the whole Vegas thing would be a weekend deal. Drive up Friday, meet up with folk s at the hotel for drinks at the hotel bar(s), then we have a big gathering/activity on Saturday. Then on Satrday night, we all go to Olympic Gardens where the guys hang out down stairs and the girls can hang out with us or go to the 'ladies' area upstairs :hihi: Then we all somehow get back home Sunday. That sounds like a plan, right?
I know the local Vegas people could help us out with activities ideas, right folks? ;)

You could put a poll for vegas. but we should set some kind of minimum and figure out dates. I'd be down with it, but a couple weekends, i'm committed on like the middle of sat, so of course that doesn't work.. irvine is probably best to gather the most of GA... maybe we could all just bring our poker chips and gamble with each other and hire some strippers and call it Mini-Vegas.
i liked someone's idea of pechanga (is that how it's spelled?) anyhoo ....that would be good, no ?

:stupid: ....vegas would def have to be a wkend thing .....BUT i also agree w/NIJA that the holidays are coming so people need to check their calendars.

i was chatting with ray, and i know that LV would be a great place. however, logistically, it would just be a nightmare. would YOU like to be the one that puts your credit card down to make the reservation for 30+ individuals who you "met" online? also, due to time constraints, it's just easier for some ppl to take 1/2 a day, drive up/down to irvine and hang out with some cool ppl for a few hours, then go home.
so let's do this. let's start taking suggestions for actual venues. D&B is out, b/c we're looking for someplace different.
things to look for when suggesting:
1. family friendly - in the past, members like to bring their family members to these gatherings (read: kids). so as memorable as it would be to see dopey's kids get their first lap dance, it's just not the theme we're going for.
2. size matters - there's probably gonna be 30+ individuals, we'll need a place big enough to fit everyone.
3. $$ - we're all on G|A for one thing: the babes thread...oh wait, no. we're here to save money, so it's gotta be a fairly economical place where we can hang.
as of right now, the vote is kinda close for SD and Irvine. so let's hear some venues in those areas. then after we have a few, i'll post another poll.
How about a local brewery? Brewmaster would constantly talk about the great brewery's they have in the S.D. area.

Nope, sorry...no other Poway people are allowed. As the resident Poway representative holding a galaga badge...you will need to find another suburb to claim you are in.
Poway is the "sh|tty in the country" as I call it. Its officially not San Diego. A true Poway resident would know that. Its why we dont get to vote on the election woes of San Diego proper.
Its also why we have damn horsetrails behind every house. Roads that change name from RB -->Espola; Cmno Del Norte---> Twin Peaks. As well as lots of other fun and not so interesting things.
In fact so few people know of Poway, I just say I live in/near SD.

haha you're so right ufc... The only reason I know poway even exists is because they have to cover the damn traffic there all the time on San Diego radio :rolleyes: damn that "golden traingle." Like there ever is a time when there isn't a hold up on the 15N by rancho bernardo or del norte. It could be worse however you could be an escondido and claim you live in san diego. I meet those kinds of people down here all the time. I'll ask them what part of san diego they live in and they will look confused at me thinking san diego is just san diego.
And as retarded as that polygamous named road you spoke of it could be worse... ie la jolla where they decided to name every street la jolla :confused:
