I'm looking at HDTV cards, and some folks on ebay note that their HDTV Wonder cards were manufactured before 7/1/05. Since the flag was killed, isn't this pretty much a non-issue, or does anybody know if ATI altered their cards post 7/1?

I really dislike entertainment execs.

BTW, This is what ATI says:
Information regarding Broadcast Flag legislation – According to FCC’s Broadcast Flag Order (MB Docket 02-230) adopted November 4, 2003, Digital TV receiver products (like the HDTV WONDER) built on and after July 1, 2005 are required to protect certain digital TV broadcasts. The legislation does not affect HDTV receiver products manufactured before July 1, 2005 (or sold any time after). As such, the HDTV WONDER™ will continue to function exactly in the same manner it does today past the July 1, 2005 legislation date.

I'm just wondering if new cards are susceptible to flagging in a way that old cards are not.

[almost off topic]
Avoid the HDTV wonder. I bought one earlier this summer, hoping to do HDTV on the cheap. It is exactly that-cheap. I could not get anything but OPB to come in. I returned it, and got a Samsung T451 off amazon.com and recieved all the major networks.

Read the reviews. HDTV wonder is garbage. The Fusion cards, on the other hand, got decent reviews.

Yeah, I kind of wondered about that. I'll probably wait and spring for one of the better cards.
