Now I really hate being in charge. Part of being a stupidvisor, I was told would mean some overtime hours. Not that I didn't already work 45 hours a week. Our swingshift guy called in sick, and I got drafted, not even nominated to stay late. My boss didn't even ask if I could stay late, he sent me an email that said "OT work, OK". I've been here for 11 hours and ticking, and the estimated time I MIGHT get out of here is 9pm. Then I get to spend another 45 min on the road home, only to return at 7:30 tomorrow morning. :boxing: I don't get paid enough for this S%@T!!!

it only turned out to be 14 hours. I got about 2 hours at time and a half, and 2 hours at double time. Still not sure if its worth it. :disa:

Thats what sucks about working on salary... but even if your hourly, working less then 3 or 4 hours overtime is not even worth it coz they just take out even more on taxes!!!

At least they actually starting pay us salaried people for OT. This is for this year. Before it was straight salary and they were slave drivers. But it did suck, and I still managed to be back at work by 7:45, only 15 later than I normally start.
I ust found out my manager is going to Mexico next week for 4 days, and my director will be in Asia for 2 weeks. I THINK that leaves me in charge. :disa:

I don't know how you do it. I can do this, but its also ridiculous because I spend most of my time waiting waiting for other people. I only worked 16 hours yesterday and got back here at 7:15.

Bummer. I thought only firefighters and hospital workers had to pull 12 hour shifts. There's something to be said for an 8 hour day!

Around here, firefighters do 24 on, 48 off. Most of them have second jobs.
My work day is 8:30 to 5:00 with a 1 hour lunch. It is very rare to find me in the office at 5:05pm. :)
