Weathermen in my area are predicting the "possible perfect storm" in my area sometime tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night..rain/snow/sleet...something about cold air coming down from the north, and the remnants of the hurricane coming up from the south..well, I guess If I get buried I have enough food in the house to survive for a long time, and I've got books and firewood so I'm all set..if I get buried in and don't see you guys till next spring..well, have a nice winter..lol..
In the meantime, I'm betting it will just rain..drat.

I hear I'm also going to get the brunt of this storm as well. They're very carefully predicting light snow(!) in this area in the worst case scenario.

Well, I special ordered a set of tires for my car a few days ago. Looks like I took the perfect timing.

First Nor'easter of the Season!
Tuesday, October 25, 2005 6:58 AM EDT

The first major nor'easter of the 2005-06 winter will be taking shape on Tuesday, as a strong coastal storm develops off the mid-Atlantic coastline. This system is fueled by deep Atlantic moisture, partially thanks to passing Hurricane Wilma. More importantly, a deep upper-level trough of low pressure slowly pushing through the Ohio Valley will provide the energy and cold air for this strengthening storm. Along the coast, fierce winds will gust up to 60 mph with heavy rain in coastal New England. Well inland, heavy, wet snow will fall, mainly at elevations about 1800 feet, bringing the first snowstorm of the season.

i guess it's better than what they were predicting a few days ago.
they were saying we were going to get a Voltron. i have NEVER even heard of a Voltron. :gle:

10:05 and no sign of snow..we do have a winter weather advisory now, saying the snow will be starting late in the day..it's only 37 degrees right now, and once the "sun" (ha) goes down, it will definately be cold enough to snow..I can't wait..I love being snowed in!~ Isn't a Voltron one of those people from Star Wars like Mr. Spock? :|

No, Spock is a Vulcan. Voltron was a japanese toy/cartoon comprised of 5 lions piloted by 5 young adults that formed into this giant battling robot.

Voltron was the name of a quirky hurricane that had a slim chance of sprouting up because of the weather patterns. didn't happen.
"Wilma and Alpha may assemble to form a larger storm. Projected name: Hurricane Voltron."
