Last night I went for a walk around Mission Bay (not all the way around). This was near a place known as Sail Bay and the Mission Bay Rowing Club. It is a pier where the Bahia Belle, a paddle wheel ship that ferries people across the bay from the Bahia Resort lands. This heron was looking for something in the water. I was able to sneak up pretty close to him. After he took off and I looked down into the water, I could see a couple of glowing green dots moving in the water. Not sure what it was, but obviously there is something in the water that floresces. This must have been what the bird was watching. The exposure was several seconds (on a mini tripod) so it is a good thing the bird did not move during that time. This is probably about an hour after sunset.
