see I have never been but have been wanting to go to one - but if the wives were coming - I wouldn't want the reason of them not coming because of a strip club.... it would be a fun experience with both sexes I think...

Ben makes a good point. We need to consider all parties...therefore, strip club is probably not the best option. Sorry Ben and Angl2b, but I can't see myself making that trip out to The Hangar Club. :(

Anything is good really - we're strapped for cash too - holidays/wedding planning doesn't leave a lot to spend... what does everyone feel like doing?

I always thought the Hangar club was a liquor store. I lived two blocks away from it when I lived at my parents house in PG. Never thought about it until I saw an ad on TV like 2 decades later. Anyways kidding about the strip club.

Bar/lounge deal sounds good also. If transportation is a problem for people maybe we can work something out.

Ben - Since you live in DC I don't imagine you having a car right?
Kimchi - Are you also car-less? but metro accessible?I am indeed car-less but I'm a Zipcar member. Though the thought of driving to Baltimore and back during any part of rush hour makes my head spin; I've actually only done the drive once.

Hmm...I don't think I can take a vacation day. I can meet up after work. There's only so many karaoke bars. There Mia Casa in Silver Spring and some in Annandale but that's all I know. It can get pricey too.

Hate to say it, but looks like I'm out. I've all but accepted the job offer in DC, so they are going to send me out on a TDY on the 12th for a week or two. After that, I come back, go home for Christmas until sometime after New Years and then return to pack my stuff and go to DC for good. Problem is I have a huge ass project to finish before that TDY period, so I'll be putting in some long hours just for the next few weeks.

Now should any of you want to hook up the week of the 12th, I'm game. Same goes for when after I move out there.

But you know, with the Caps being one of the top teams in the NHL, tickets may be hard to come by. ;)

take the P Street exit (i think it's P Street. just not the Q Street exit)
when you get out, make a u-turn-ish move and face the rotary. follow the rotary to the left. (you'll pass a Bank of America ATM)
make a left on P St.
walk 5 blocks
make a right onto 22nd
and it should be on your right. 1523 22nd St. NW

cool. i'm at the doubletree hotel less than a mile away.

i'm in a fairly decent sized suite so if anyone isn't up to driving they can stay with me. ladies...there's a king sized bed. :naughty:

guys....a pull out couch.

i showed up and they had people scurrying around helping me. they gave me a nice warm cookie which was gone the second i got to my room. of course the bellman had to come in and show me the feautures of the room until i gave him a tip and he scampered away. they called up and said they forgot the breakfast coupon and would be right up. they showed up with the coupon, a gift basket with water, snacks, chocolate, etc. in it, and a couple bottles of fiji water.

it's nice to be treated like this but the $13 for internet access, $190ish for the room, and $30 for valet parking means they're really not doing me any favors. lol.

It was a fun night - cheapie being "6'7", EC trying to kill mcs, MikeD, and I while she was trying to leave the parking garage (she took her foot off the brake and the car started rolling backwards...:sweat:), MikeD staring at mcs and I on the metro when he got on :gle:, EC, MikeD, mcs, and I saw a club called APEX (we thought it was a strip club and EC took lead and we went in - but it wasn't), Irish being ignored by the waitress :laugh:, Ben is an alchie :gle:, Kimchi - it was nice seeing you again too!
yes - this night was extremely fun and it was definitely memorable.

BTW - the WWII memorial is inbetween the Wash monument and the Lincoln memorial on the mall. When you were standing on the steps of the memorial and you looked at the monument can see the WWII memorial. :P

On that note... I think the WWII Memorial is probably my favorite place in DC, especially at night. You can see the Washington Monument, the Capitol building and the Lincoln Memorial from there with stunning clarity.

BTW Cheapie, where we stopped to uh... ya, you know what I mean, around there to the right was the *(&^ing Vietnam Wall. We went left instead of right...

i agree. if you are accustomed to driving in the snow/ice it isn't a big deal.
we got hit bad today with sleet/ice and then snow. we have 6-12 more inches in the forecast. it doesn't bother me a bit to drive in it.

white out conditions suck, but it's not going to be windy so all's clear. :)

I agree with you 2. People around here freak out about the winter precipitation but I am used to it. Besides all of you flat-landers don't know what bad roads are really like. Snow or ice covered hills/mts are much worse than snow or ice covered flat lands.
