They're being sold at buy.com for 160.95. Take $30 off that with any of the coupons floating around, and another $30 for a manufacturer's rebate.

Link for rebate: http://www.quantum.com/quantum/promos/030700_rebate.htm?PAGECONTEXT=PRN

So it's 100.95 before shipping. According to Storagereview.com, its performance is on par with an IBM 75GXP. I tihnk it's a pretty good deal. There are rebates
on other capacity drives as well (I think this 30 gb is the best tho)

What do you guys think? It's my first post.

Order 1 of these:

http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10243351&loc=101

at 100.95

Use the $15 off $100 coupon and then submit the rebate from Quantum.

Have a 'freind' do the same.

Total cost (pre-ship): ~$110

Now spend the $35 or so on the Promise ATA card to Promise RAID card (http://www.thetechzone.com/reviews/controllers/promise/hacked_ultra66/page4.shtml) and you have 30 gigs of blindingly fast storage.

Ahh, but for a Quantum 15gb, the manufacturer rebate is only $15. So the cost b4 shipping for one 15gb drive is $70.
For 2, it would be $200 - $30 - $30 = $140.
So I think my deal is still better :)
