I present you the following link, which shows before and after photos of how some women look in real life vs. after having their photo retouched.
Click "Start Here" and then just scroll the mouse over the picture to see the original. (http://www.glennferon.com/portfolio1/index.html)
Just for you, ladies...because IAHAD cares. ;)

i don't think the before/afters are anything spectacular. None of the women look amazingly different - most of them look nice in the before, the after is just better colored and smoother. There's a few breasts enhancements here and some butt lifts, but that's about it. and yeah, they look too fakey in the end - the coloring isn't right, and sometimes they almost look like a cartoon.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I didn't see an attractive woman in any of the 15-ish ones I looked at. Add the fact that those women are all fake (ie retouched) and they're knocked down a few more pegs on the totem pole IMHO...I hate fake people. Be who you are; who gives a crap what other people think. "Be happy with yourself" is the only motto worth following; don't change yourself just to fit into a 'frame' that people accept (whether it's looks, popularity, who you hang out with, what you own, etc).
Man I hate fake people...:)
Life's too short...enjoy what you have. You can fake yourself out all you want but when you wake up the next morning next to someone and your makeup's all smudged off and your left with your real self, that other person will realize how fake you are.
sorry for the soapbox rant there...
some were touched up a little more than others .....all these young girls out here trying to be like their fav model should look at these photos and see that they're not even as "real" as their pictures .......too many girls out there trying to have their fav model/celeb's body and look!

Hmm, in some the ladies go from having little to full on "baby got back" levels.

That's shadow. Track marks are much more defined and distinctive.

So basically, Alicia Keys, Vivica Fox, Halle Berry, Mary J. Blige, and Beyonce' are not attractive people to you.
Many of the other are also big stars, but I only pointed out some that most folks would identify with on that page.
Remember, these are only photographs... people get "retouched" photos all the time. But since these folks are "higher profile" folks doing major ad campaings possibly with some of these photos, then they get a bit more retouching than your average "Olan Mills Special". :heh:
Go watch "America's Top Model" sometime... you'd be amazed at how much "retouching" is done to make "Supermodels" look so good on print. :D

That was my point. These girls are all good-looking, but even they don't look as good as their retouched pictures.

I'm glad I found this thread again before I went to sleep.
I was just thinking about this. Women shouldn't have a complex about their bodies. Too many women think they're ugly when in actuality I can think of very few women that I've met (and I mean VERY FEW) who didn't have at least one truly redeeming quality about them that I would call beautiful. Women don't give themselves enough credit. You're beautiful.
This PSA brought to you by the "Shawn is a nice guy you should hook up with your prettiest looking single friend" society. Remember, if she's single and hot, refer her to Shawn.

When you look at the media blitz targeted at women for literally every part of their body, it must get frustrating to keep on top of them all. I think that's the reason there are such extremes in this society: the super thin knockout who listens to all of the hype and the extremely obese who have decided it's not worth the time and effort.

perhaps you should ask the artist. i'm guessing it's his portfolio of work he's actually done for magazines and whatnot. otherwise he probably wouldn't have the before images.

I haven't found myself on a bus in the past 10 years to test the theory... but honestly, if the bus is THAT crowded... it would depend on how far we still had to go and how "disabled" the lady was. :heh:
BTW.. it's amazing how far off track this thread has traveled. I think I'm gonna slide over there now and leave it alone after this. :heh:
