This is the hotel from the Shining. It is called The Stanley and it is in Estes Park. Often there are elk nearby. Steven King stayed here while he wrote it and they also filmed the movie with Jack Nichlolson here. The maze in the movie is not here though. This is from last year.

Thanks for the hotel pic! It looks different without the snow everywhere. Is it really closed during the winter?

My went and saw that when he was out that way. Pity that he didn't stay there....instead they stayed at some other hotel.
