If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink.

If you stare at the black + in the center, the moving dot turns to green.

Now, concentrate on the black + in the center of the picture. After a short period of time,

all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see a green dot rotating if you're lucky!

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear.

This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see.

No. It's just the way our eyes work. Our brains are optimized for movement and differentiation. So when the pink dots turn gray for a bit, which includes more colors, the brain pastes that color over that area because it's what it remembers there. Since you are concentrating on one spot only significant changes will be added to the periphery.

The dot seems green because the eyes are automatically eliminating the magenta and most of what is left is green.

Thanks. I am wasted tonight. I had a lot of work to do and got a bit more done than I had hoped, but still, well, ouch. I am a hurting unit here. And by wasted I mean exhausted, not drunk. revil handles the drunk wasted.
