Theoretically here....you bring me a mercedes benz S class that has been deemed a lemon under an extended contract which you bought. The contract gives you included maintenance, perks, and other specific rights in the event your car is brought in. The company that sold you the contract goes under, but it was backed by another company.
Your car went in before the company went under, but you didnt get a chance to come pick out your new S class until after the dissolution. The lot is still open and running, but by a liquidator, not the company and they tell you to screw off, talk to the other company.
You contact the other company and after much back and forth, they end up telling you that you have been authorized for a replacement Chevy. You tell them that while both are cars and do the same thing, your old unit was much higher quality and not even in the same realm as the Chevy. The contract company says that the warranty only says they will replace it with a similar unit, not the same unit. Plus, if you want you can find your same model/yr for what the Chevy costs. Its from an unknown source and has been in an accident, but repaired to standard condition.
That is basically what GE is doing to me wtih my freaking DVD changer! I am about 2 seconds away from taking a road trip with a large wooden bat and a larger aluminum bat. I think I can give them an INDEPTH demonstration on how two things that do the same thing can be VERY different. But I dont want to get to know Bubba, so that might be the wrong idea.
These idiots are doing standard web searches to look for the unit....they come up with old sites of reviews and claim, oh they have it in stock for X amount which was the last discounted sale price. I am SO pissed.
