I need one for class (need=They're cool and I want one, plus it has the side effect of being marginally useful in class). Any reccomendations?

I have one - it does a very good job. You can also use the butane heat exhaust near the tip very effectively on heat-shrink tubing as well. When I get home I'll let you know what make/model mine is.
