you should just put up the picture and allow our finest 'choppers go out to town on it hehe.

more details? a background change can be complicated, at least if you want it to look realistic. Perspective, lighting, etc. complicate matters. The way I usually do it: take the time to erase around the image you want in the foreground, and then create a new layer and stick the background in it. that way, you can manipulate the foreground layers colors and whatnot, and try to fix it to match the background.

background changes can most definately be done

if you want a professional (or larger than 4x6 print), better leave it to ppl who have extensive knowledge of PS techniques

but while s/he is working on it, ask for him/her to teach you...it's fun

might plan for 25 hrs into the project, if its your first

*snip*

cute pic, but i'm not sure i understand - how will changing the background to something plain allow you to enlarge it to an 8x10? are you talking about a print? because if the main subject of the image is a low resolution (like the entire picture is), then it will print out grainy regardless of the background.

i don't like the background .....so i'd like to change it so it looks nice (to me)

I can probably do it, but you'll have to elaborate more.
What exactly do you want taken out...the mirror? the table? the fruit/candles? all 3?
What do you want put in the removed item(s) place? Solid color? If so, what color?
As for the enlargement...do you want the person taking out the bg to do that or are you doing that on your own?

I recommend you send/upload the highest res copy of that photo that you can especially if you're doing an enlargement.

Give me an idea what you're looking for and I can do it for you. :thumb:

Fixed Levels

I uploaded two versions; on one of them I used the Levels feature in Photoshop to fix some of the color/darkness; IMHO this one (the fixed one) looks much better but you are free to use whichever you like better.

Hey - do me a favor :)
whenever you get your new camera (you asked advice on a week ago) -
put up a review of it...I believe you said you were going to get a Canon...?
I'm looking at the SD400/SD450 myself; like I posted in that thread, we're getting sick of our camera.
Anyhow - please post a review of it - or at least PM me which one you got and a review of sorts...I'll be lookin' for advice myself. :D thanks

our daughter Chloe was born a few weeks before yours (12/04/04)
Dunno about you but I'm wondering where the year went :D
Glad to see her grow up but sad at the same time :(

Hope you enjoy whatever camera you get...like I mentioned - put up a review of it if you don't mind :)

You could use it as a wallpaper; I take a lot of my daughter's pictures and do a little editing and use them as wallpapers. Right now I've got a picture of her from Halloween with a pumpkin orange color with the words "I want candy" in a creepy font (dl for free off 1001 fonts (http://www.1001fonts.com). :)

There is also a tool that does this for you...fairly quickly too! It is Fluid Mask from Vertus Tech.

Pretty spiffy...spotted it on another forum and its worth a try.

For $239 it better do more than speed up the time it takes to cut out an image, it should also do windows and make sure dinner is ready when I get home...

The full version (with the normal price) of that plugin is $499 which is almost the cost of a full version (non upgrade) of Photoshop *itself*.

Umm...that's just wrong. :2far:

Quick Mask works good enough for me and it's included in the 'entrance fee'. :)
