From the airplane as I flew back from Colorado. Some of these babies are over 14,000 feet high. The flight also passes by the Grand Canyon but that was all clouded over.

Wow! I didn't bother taking any when I flew cause the windows didn't seem that clear. What is your secret for out the window shots?

It is hazy out of an airplane window. Photoshop (I have Elements 3.0) does a surprising job of reducing it. Most of it is accomplished with reducing the brightness and some contrast adjustments. It is like it can see through the clouds.

I guess I need to learn to chop up the pics I took from the plane.

I just used the levels adjustments to get through the haze. I did increase the saturation a bit to get the sky more blue. Not very hard. I don't know much beyond the basic adjustments. But I would rather get the best picture I can in the first place so I don't have to do a lot to it. It does help save what would otherwise be marginal pictures and gives a bit more pop to the good ones. The software and camera have really opened up possibilities to me which I am really enjoying. If I was still using film I would definately not be taking near as many pictures or getting as good results. The results make you want to take more and the more you take the better results you get.

Thanks for the tips! Next time I fly I'll take some and try cleaning them up.
