I'm planning on visiting Spain, Holland, France and England this winter. I'll probably be there from late December to early January. Anybody know if I should expect snow in any of these countries around that time? I don't mind cold weather. But if there's a high possiblity of snow I'm changing my travel plans.

I spent a winter in England. You probably won't see any snow, but you probably won't see the sun much either. In February of that year the sun came out for 27 total hours in London. Spain may depend on where you go. France has the Alps and the Pyranese which will probably get snow. But nobody can forcast the weather a couple of monthe ahead yet. I would go and enjoy yourself. Snow is not that big of a deal. Unless you are traveling by bicycle.

I'm concerned about snow because it'll be mostly a architecture/photography trip. I don't want to be shooting snow-covered buildings. Not that they aren't pretty... in a way....

You will definitely see frost in the northern countries, particularly the Nederlands and the UK. Depending on how high you go you may see snow, but remember you're going in December so it will definitely be cold.

Bone chilling is what I remember of a lot of places in Europe around this time. Didn't you live in Frankfurt Kevster? Even there is pretty chilly these days right?

Well, I can provide a little first hand knowledge that Frankfurt isn't bad right now. I just started wearing a jacket last week - and I don't think I even really need it.
I haven't spent a winter here yet, but from what people have told me, we shouldn't expect much snow at all.

Ah Butch I might be mistaking Kevster for you. Although he might have lived there not sure. Anyway, I flew into Frankfurt in late December when I first arrived to the country. When I walked out of the terminal, my body froze as the temperature dropped a good 50 degrees. It probably won't snow there, but it'll certainly hit freezing some days. My advice is drink plenty of Gluwein during the Christmas season :)

I was in Frankfurt at almost this time last year, actually. It was lightly snowing when I was there just before Thanksgiving. I spent Thanksgiving in Geneva Switzerland with my cousins and there was already snow on the local mountains. I was in Amsterdam shortly afterward and it was very cold (they already had their first frost). I was there for a few days then I came home to 70 degrees and blue skies. :)

Ah, but I'll be back in NYC for the Christmas season . . . keep that in mind when you see your girlfriend's dancer friends . . . <ahem> . . . don't forget to hook an Apexer up! ;)
