Woman Charged With Molesting 15-Year-Old

2 hours, 1 minute ago

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - A 37-year-old woman was charged with child molestation after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy whom she married last week.

The Gainesville Times quoted unidentified members of the boy's family as saying that Lynnette Clark is pregnant with the boy's child and that they were married Tuesday. Judy Hayles, the boy's grandmother, said she received a notice of the marriage from Dawson County because she is the boy's guardian.

Clark was arrested Wednesday and brought to the Hall County Detention Center. The Hall County sheriff's office did not immediately return phone calls Monday seeking further detail. Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh also did not immediately return a call Monday seeking comment.

Hayles said the relationship had been going on for nearly two years. She said her grandson and Clark's teenage son had been close friends and that the grandson spent many weekends at Clark's home.

Now Hayles said she is working to end the marriage.

"This marriage is going to be terminated," she said.

Dawson County probate officials confirmed the marriage took place but declined to provide additional comment, saying a statement would be released later Monday.

Georgia law provides an exemption to age requirements for marriage if the couple have a child or the female can show she is pregnant. In Georgia, one must be 18 to marry without parental consent or 16 to marry with parental consent.

Gainesville, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, is the seat of Hall County. Dawson is an adjoining county.

They don't check age when they get a marriage license?

Wouldn't it be a bit weird as a teenager to have your "close friend" banging your Mom? :eek3:

Weird. Though, if she were hot, I can certainly understand the kid's rationale.

"Jimmy, your mom is hot!"
"Shutup, dude!"
"Yeah, and she wants me!"
"Shutup, dude!"

In 5 years, my daughter will be 15 and my wife will be 34. If any of the guys who come around then (and I'm sure they will be) even take a passing glance at my wife, they're gonna get a beatdown :boxing: of epic proportions.

I'm with SL on this one. You expect the 15 year old to make the choice he made, but not the 35 year old.

Agreeing with MikeD and SL, the kid...well... he made a childish decision. One most any male would make, but the woman?! Ugh :puke: Just disgusting!

EDITED. Thought some more about the subject and now I'm not so sure. On one hand, if they were genuinely in love, why should the state get involved. Maybe they'll live happily ever after together and everything turns out fine. If it was truly consensual then she's probably no danger to society. On the other hand, what if the relationship totally messed up that kids life/mind.

It's a sad situation to say the least.

It winds up that the woman was ugly so the cops put him in jail so that he would learn a lesson about dating ugly women.

these stories make me sick.
people are so retarded.
and 13 year olds and a 35 year old is NOT in love. That is the most jaded thing ive ever heard.
and they deserve to be in jail.
