OB compare it to other movies that you think fall in to that catagory.

well, let's see...I'm not sure exactly what category this movie should actually be in to start with. The first time I saw it I was like...."what the..."...then I watched it again and didn't "think" about it too much..the characters in the movie become familiar to you...you will find yourself assosciating the people in the movie with people that you may have went to high school with..the class nerd, the wierd quiet girl, the new kid with no friends...and it's all done without cursing, sex, extreme violence or really bloody scenes..it's one of those rah rah movies where you hope that in the end, the good guy actually wins (kind of like the movie RUDY-but in a groovy moon boot sort of way). My favorite part is when "Lyle" has the kids working on the chicken farm for money-and he starts talking about the arrowheads he found in the stream...the first time you watch the movie you won't understand what he says..but the more you watch it..the easier it is to pick up on things you missed the first time around.. You feel sorry for kids like Pedro, Napoleon, Kip and Deb, but you'll have your favorite hates too-like Summer Wheatly (grrrr) and her boyfriend that makes the wierd faces...and forget about the uncle-he's just so creepy you'll want to go take a shower to wash him away..lololol
(and don't forget-watch the movie all the way through the credits-there is some extra footage at the end :) )

I think of ND in the same way I think of "The Life of Brian" or other such movies.

Better with some  but still only *really* funny after a second (or more) viewing.

Then certain things stand out more and you can find them funny.
