Attn: Sir,
I am Prince James mike, the elder son of His Royal Majesty David Mike and I know this letter might surprise you because we have not met neither in person nor by correspondence, but I believe that it takes just one day to get to meet or know someone either physically or through correspondence.
I got your contact through my private research you were revealed as being quite astute in private entrepreneurship, one has no doubt in your ability to handle a financial business transaction.
However, I am the first son of His Royal Majesty David Mike, the traditional ruler of Eleme Kingdom in Nigeria.
I am making this contact to you in respect of US$18,500,000.00,which I inherited from my late father.
This money was accumulated from royalties paid to my father as compensation by the Crude oil located in our area as a result of Mineral presence in our land, which hampers Agriculture which is our main source of livelihood.
Unfortunately my father died from protracted diabetes.
But before his death he called my attention and informed me that he lodged some funds in a box with a security firm with an open beneficiary.
The lodgment security code number was also revealed to me.
He then advised me to look for a reliable business partner abroad that will assist me in investing the money in a lucrative business as a result of Economic Apartheid here in Nigeria.
So this is the major reason why I am contacting you for this money to be moved from the security firm for investment purpose abroad.
Hence my father had intimated the security firm that the beneficiary of the box is his Foreign partner whose particulars will be forwarded to the firm when due.
But I will guide you accordingly. As soon as the funds are claimed, I will come over to meet you in person, so that we can discuss physically on investment potentials and sharing.
I hereby guarantee you that this money is not Government money nor is it drug money and it is not money from arms deals. Please kindly maintain a high degree of confidentiality on this matter.
I will give you more details immediately I get your swift response.
I hope this will be the beginning of a prosperous relationship between my family and yours.
Please if you are not interested, kindly contact me immediately so that I can look for another person.
I awaits your response.
Prince James Mike

What a scammer - he's not even offering you 10-20% of the loot up front!

He would be more honest if he said:

As soon as the funds are claimed, I will come over to meet you in person, so that I can steal your wallet as well as your bank account.

Please if you are not interested, kindly contact me immediately so that I can look for another sucker.

Kingdom in Nigeria?
Although Nigeria has a (somewhat) democratic government, there still exist many of the past tribal organizations (still designated as "kingdoms"). However, I don't think that "Eleme" is one of them.

I still get calls from friends who know I enter sweepstakes and contests asking me if a similar email they got is real. It is amazing how many people think these are real, and/or reply to them to see if they get anything.

Yes, but how would someone using a CZ (Czech Republic) country code in their email be familiar with that?

Where's the link with the guy who went great lengths to get back at these people. I remember he faked photos of him in Africa of something. THat was fabulous.

Yeah, I noticed that.

One thing I remember when reading about the 419 scams - because the scammers aren't too good at English, they sometimes hire someone else to write the scam letters. The letter writers sometimes like to hide little hints in the letters - sometimes things like the sender's "name" (one famous example is a letter that comes from "Ben Ahore").

Anyone know why all of a sudden these are popping up. I only used to get a few of them ever now and the. Lately I have been getting one or two a day. I rarely sign up for anything so I wonder what may be going on.

I am the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department
of Union Bank Plc. I am writing owing the impressive information about you
through the internet.

In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of US$ 15M US dollars
(Fiften million US dollars) . In an account that belongs to one of our
foreign customer who died along with his entire family in a fatal car crash
in the year 2002. Since we got information about his death, we have
been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we
cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation
to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines but unfortunately we
learnt that his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at
the car crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I and other officials in my
department now decided to make this businness proposal to you and release
the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety
and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want
this money to go into the Bank treasury as unclaimed Bill.

The Banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained
unclamed after four years, the money will be transfered into the Bank
treasury account as unclaimed fund.
The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by
the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Nigerian cannot stand as
next of kin to a foreigner.

We agree that 30 % of this money will be for you as foreign partner, in
respect to the provision of a foreign account, 10 % will be set aside for
expenses incured during the business and 60 % would be for me and my
colleagues. There after I and my colleagues will visit your country for
disbursement accoding to the percentages indicated.

Therefore to enable the immediate trnansfer of this fund to you as arranged,
you must apply first to the bank as relations or next of kin of the deceased
indicating your bank name, your bank account number, your private telephone
and fax number for easy and effective communication and location where in
the money will be remitted .

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of
the application. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this
transaction is 100% hitch free and that you should not entertain any atom of
fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer.

You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter on my
private e-mail address
([email protected] )

I anticipate to hear from you immediately.

Your's faithfully,

MRfrank kings
Bill and exchange manager,

I got this an email similar to this. In mine, a widow from some rich nation in Africa wanted my bank account number to transfer her husband's funds. Then sometimes later, a foreign relation of mine named Sir Robert died and left me bazillions. :-p I applaud them for originality!
