My new mustang has shipped and should be in my possession at any time. The dealer is hoping the truck rolls in today, and preps it for an afternoon pickup. Otherwise it will be picked up tomorrow before i drive it to Toronto.
I can't wait. Its been 5 months and 1 day...
Pics to come, hopefully sooner than later.

you got the green one right? you'd think they could get it to you sooner since you only live 1-3 hours away from where it's made.

You sure you want to drive a brand new car on a road trip? When I bought my car, the owner's manual said to not use cruise control (i..e not drive it at a constant RPM) and to not take it over 5k for 3000 miles. Might want to investigate the break-in period (although breaking in a car means less now than it used to).

if he lives in detroit it's only a 3 hour trip. depending on the traffic he'll have to speed up and slow down a lot through canada. i've done that drive several times after i've missed flights, forgotten my passport, etc.

Most newer cars supposedly don't even need break-in periods anymore. But I still "broke" mine in.

Here's an article about it:
Sounds like it's best to just read the manual.

they say to not drive over 55 for 500 miles. That shouldnt be a problem.
I ended up going with Tungsten, then switched to Vista Blue. Its a nice deep blue. Black leather interior.

Not for nothing, RI, but I can buy a green one right off the lot here in Daytona Beach. Why the long wait? Special goodies? I forgot the original post other than how excited all us Ford guys were for you.

Wow, I didn't know people still order cars to specifics. Around here, if your local dealer doesn't have the make/model/color/extras you want, there is certainly one at another dealer which will trade with the local dealer. I guess I am spoiled...the last couple of cars I bought I walked in to the dealer and had the car I wanted and on the road an hour later.

I ordered the GT which is nearly impossible to find on lots up here. There are tons of the V6's around, but a V6 wouldnt suffice :D
The average wait time for a new mustang is still several months. They are expected to sell out the entire production again this year like they did last year. Many of the 05 orders were converted to 06 orders. Same will happen with the 06 to 07 changeover

We need to get into the GT exporting business. About 8 blocks from here is the New Smyrna Ford dealer (tiny) and they have 2 roushes (sp) and 6 GTs on the lot. (just called). Crazy. They have my favorite combination - green with black stripes and the green window blockouts on the c-pillars. nice. 28k. I wanta.
