This is in the mountain town of Nederland- west of Boulder, Colorado at around seven or eight thousand feet. It is a fairly freestyle community with food coops, coffee shops, and spiritual businesses. Just a couple of hundred live there. The most recent notorious person from their was the man who was glued (by himself perhaps?) to a toilet seat in a Denver Home Depot. It seems he was glued to a seat in Nederland too. Hmm. Tomorrow I will introduce you to another famous person there. But he is dead. The museum was closed when I was there so I just took this picture of the outside.

Was it a coal-mining museum? If so, I'd definately be interested to see pics inside, as I've been in the one in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Learned a lot of stuff down there too. :)

(At the one in Glace Bay, you actually do get to go reasonably far underground.)

Sadly all my pics from there were taken with a crappy HP 2.1 megapixel digicam, so the quality isn't the greatest.

I love checking out old mines and ghost towns, sometimes you can find some neat treasures left behind.

Mostly silver mining and some uranium mines in the Rockies. I don't think there is much coal around (but there is some). I didn't get inside.
