Has anyone tried Orthokeratology? It involves temporarily correcting vision problems through the use of contact lenses worn generally at night. I know its been around for a while now, and isn't as popular as laser correction as the results only last for about a day, but during my last exam, my optometrist told me that I was a good candidate for this non-evasive program. My prescription is currently at -0.75 and -0.5 with very slight astigmatism in one eye so it should bring my vision back to normal during the day.

I've read about it a little online, and I have one friend that has been using it for a few years now. She is pleased with the results. Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, Ive tried it couple years ago and it didnt really do anything. But wearing the hard contacts tends to make your prescription increase slower.

I discussed the process with my optometrist several years ago. He did it for people on occation. One guy wanted to be a pilot but needed 20/20 vision to be considered. He made it.

The process involves wearing hard lenses, they are not as comfortable as soft lenses. Depending on where you are starting from you will change lenses to ones that are less corrected until you use ones with no correction that just shape the eye.
It's not permanant. You need to continue wearing the lenses when you sleep.
