After a DVD file has been encoded and placed in C:\ why does it have to be encoded again so that in can burned to disc, using Nero, for example?
Why can't the encoded file be burned directly to disc?

Huh? Doesn't DVD Shrink just make an .iso, which can be burned to disc using DVD Decrypter?

It's all one process for me... Pop a disc in, it reads it, spends 35-40 minutes encoding it, pops the disc out and I put in a blank one, then 10 or so minutes later, voila, backup of my dvd.

Like IHAD said, if you save the image to .ISO on your hard drive, you can just automatically burn it to the DVD using Nero or any other burning program. You don't have to re-encode it. :D

Where is the .iso option?
In the section before you tell it to "where to burn".. you instead tell it to create the .ISO image via the Image Recorder (Then you can double click the .ISO file and Nero will automatically start burning it.)
Here is a screenshot of where you set the directory of where you want the .ISO to be stored.

Great...I found the .iso option, but it put it in the EZDVD Creator file, which is OK.
I guess that iso images are generic and can be burned using any program..right?

if you can find a copy of DVD Decrypter (free), it'll burn .iso and .img images for you...smal, fast and free...
