So in April, as my iPod headphones showed signs of fraying, etc. after only 6 months or so, I picked up a pair of Shure E2C headphones from Amazon.com.

Recently, they started acting up. I would have a lot of static or lose sound entirely in one bud.

Given that I'm in Germany now, I figured I might have problems with a US warranty or something, but no sweat whatsoever.

I emailed the Shure distributor in Germany, and they said to send in the headphones with my US receipt.

I did, and within a week, I had a brand new pair.

Given how much better these suckers sound than the iPod headphones, and given how good the customer service is, I would highly recommend the upgrade for anyone . . . they're a good investment.

Cool. It's always nice to hear a NSS about a company rather than always hearing complaints!

I just got the E2C's about 3 weeks ago. Awesome pair of phones. I would love to upgrade to the E3C, because the chubby E2C's outer shells press against my ear and starts hurting after a couple hours. The E3C's are supposedly much smaller and sound a bit better too. Just wish I had the extra 70 bucks.

Agreed. Too many people focus on the negative. If you receive good service, it should be rewarded with praise just as much as bad service should be punished with scorn . . .

Plus, I figured someone had to try to balance out ufcrusher (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/search.php?searchid=448849) (don't worry, it's not an 'ignore' linky) and his weekly/nearly daily posts about people/companies screwing up and making him spend lots of time to resolve things! :P

E4C for $100? Are ya sure? They sell on Amazon.com for $300!

For $100, I'd consider picking up a pair even though I've already got a pair of E2Cs!

And yes, they do make a difference - just as there are differences between speakers. When I had to go back to using my iPod headphones for the week that the E2Cs were away from me, the music sounded so different and bland.

So it happened again . . . left earphone bonked out . . . sent them back in . . . got a brand new pair.

Gotta say, I love the service they provide, but I hope the trend won't continue of the earphones bonking out every 6 months or so.

On the plus side, I went quite a while before sending them in . . . which meant no time listening to my iPod . . . so I think I broke the addiction . . . have been reading a heck of a lot more, instead . . . good trade!
