I used to have this phone where you had to plug it into the wall to use it and there was this wire that went to the part you talk into so you couldn't go any further than that and you stick your finger into a hole with a number in it and spin it around and when you took your finger out it made a whirling sound and went back to where it was. That was how you did the numbers. No buttons at all. And there was this thing called a Party Line. Not a group of people having fun but sharing the phone so if it rang, it might not even be for you. Now I have this fancier phone that has buttons and stuff but it still has to be plugged into the wall but the talk thingie part doesn't have a wire on it. Pretty cool but I still can't talk from like really far away from it. Oh yeah, no more Party Line. Unless you call those ones you see on TV late at night. My dad got mad at me for calling one of those once. The people were very nice though and we talked for about an hour.

that was my plan as well, but after hearing from SEVERAL people that they were probably on their 5th 650 since they kept malfunctioning, and if your battery goes dead... you're stuck without a phone AND pda, i decided to get me a new cell phone that i needed anyway, and hopfully a palm pilot (TX) soon.

i'd reconsider it. or maybe wait til the new windows treo comes out and see how (un)reliable that one is.

Got it...EVDO is awesome. I have peaked at 1mbps speeds. I average around 300-700kbps though, which is pretty good. I can stream full screen video and browse web pages on this thing. It syncs with my exchange server, etc. it also has wifi (with high speed CDMA, who needs it?), a 1.3mpix camera/camcorder, voice dial, etc.


BUT today, two days after I got this phone, my dad trumps me by getting the HTC universal:

yours is still better than your dads considering sprint already has evdo up and running with high speeds. i don't think any gsm providers have speeds that fast yet (do they??). Anyway, how did you get it for free? new contract? I just got an axim x51v so i don't think i'll get a pda phone, but the new samsung blade looks nice :)
