Me: I don't know if I'll make it back to the office but I just wanted to update you on blah blah blah.

Boss: Well, it's a good thing you called because we need to talk about your job.

Me: Uh oh. That sounds pretty ominous. What's up?

Boss: You know that promotion we promised you? Well, we're going to give it you along with a company car.

Me: Oh. Along with a new account?

Boss: Yeah. You'll be taking X person's account she'll be taking yours. (promotion for me demotion for her)

Me: (gulp) Great. Blah Blah.

The account team I'll be on is our company's largest. Over half a billion $ in sales/year. I'll be travelling to Oregon monthly which makes me happy.

This is the SS part...I won't be travelling to Baltimore hardly at all anymore. So I won't get to see Guissepe, ATT, Mike, and the rest of my Apex friends very much in the future. Sigh.....

Part of the NSS part is that I order one of these:

Base Charger

Sebring Limited Sedan

Jeep Liberty Sport

Chrysler Town and Country LX

which would you choose?

Congrats...big time. Sucks about the travel part, but that sounds awesome for you and the family.

Hey, you've got kids so at least look at the van. If not, then the Charger. Lose the Chrysler and no chance on the Jeep.

None of the cars sound all that thrilling..but being a Jeep guy, I guess i'd go with the Liberty. Tell your boss you'll only take the promotion if they give you an Audi A8 to drive :)

Congrats on the promotion! I'd get the Jeep for the trips to a snow area though. It may come in handy. Again, Congrats!

Congrats on the promotion! Take the Liberty, they're fun!

You suck... No more moonlight strolls along the reflecting pool... sigh.

As for the car, i'd take the Liberty seeing as you are in Michigan. The charger would be cool, but in the snow, maybe not so much.

Now, as for Oregon... I'm out there 4 or 5 times a year, so all is not lost!

Jeeps are without a doubt the most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever sat in. Go with the Chrysler Town and Country. I drive one and it is unbelieveably comfortable. I have made 3 trips to Colorado in mine and it is comfort all the way. You know as you get older coolness falls to the bottom of the importance list and comfort keeps moving up. BTW congrats on the promo:cheers:

i have a van. i REALLY don't want two of them in the driveway. when consider the choices totally take out the gas mileage, reliability, and maintenance costs. the liberty would be kinda cool but i don't think we could fit three kids in it. (no...i have no announcement. but we'll likely have a third in the time it will take me to get to 65k miles.)

we'll both go test drive them soon before we choose.

Congrats.

I'd go for the Jeep. The 4 wheel drive will be great, and you should totally have enough room for your 2 current kids.

The charger would be fun, but I doubt very economical for the family (if the family don't get to use it, F'um and get the charger :P)

You're right, you don't want/need two minivans, unless your WhiskeyPapa ;)

:agree:

This makes a lot of sense for Michigan. Now if you were out here in California, I'd tell you to go for the Charger and never look back.

Congrats on the nice promotion too. :thumb:
If you're out on our coast, you're not that long a flight to a S.F. or So. Cal gathering ;)

I think I'd still get the Charger, but definitely not the Sebring. You ruled the minivan, so that leaves the mediocre Liberty.

Eh who cares, on the promotion. May there be many more to come.

I say convince them to get you a Charger srt8...if you are such a good salesman, it should be a piece of cake.

Congrats on the promotion.

economical? it's a V6 and the company pays for all the gas. i went to two dodge dealerships yesterday hoping to test drive one. none of them had the v6. they had lots of chargers.....all hemis.

i guess i didn't really think about the RWD aspect. as i was driving home from snowboarding last night in the driving snow i wondered how bad it would be.

Yeah, Charger would be fun as long as there's no snow on the ground.

I'd say the Liberty or the Seibring are your best bets - kind of a toss up between the 2.

Or say screw the snow & get the Charger anyway...! You're a careful driver, right?

no point of getting a charger if its not a hemi.

I dunno - even the base V6 has 250HP. That should be enough to move that thing around.

i just test drove it. it's an extremely solid car. and by solid i mean heavy and not real nimble. but it rides smooth and quiet. i'm guessing it would be a good road trip car.

but...those 250 horses? they must be out to pasture somewhere because....

Sebrings are my mechanic's worst nightmare. He hates them above and beyond any car he's had to deal with the last 20 years he had his shop open. Charger in base form is not that nice, and neither is the T&C. The Liberty sounds good as I echo everyone else here.

looks like i might be able to get a pacifica touring. i'll put the request in and see if it gets shot down. better to ask for forgiveness than permission. :heh:
