hot pot?

Hot soup where you bring meat and vegetables and you cook it in the pot and eat. Kinda like fondu. Also called Shabu Shabu (japanese variant).

Some people like it, I personally find the food bland, but it's decently fun.

why more like fondu than stew?

Cause you keep tossing in the veggies and meat as the soup slowly boils away.

:stupid: I liked all the various sauces you could dip the meat in after it was cooked. I also liked Shabu Shabu much better than Sukiyaki (I'm not a big fan of raw egg).

A big difference from fondu is that in the above you use very thinly sliced beef rather than chunks of meat in fondu, and what you cook them in is more water based (vs typical oil for fondu, although some places will give you broth instead).
