Help! Found a Cellphone...

but it's locked and I have no idea how to find out who owns it. Found it in a packing lot while I was walking to lunch today -- there was no one to leave it with and leaving it on the ground didn't seem prudent.

I'd contact the business and let them know...most likely the owner may call and ask if it's been found/turned in.

If you wanted to be uber-nice you could always remove the battery and get the GSM # and whatnot and call the provider and report it... :)

Does it have a company's name on it (i.e. Verizon, Cingular, etc...?) If so, just drop it off at one of their stores and they can figure it out.

It's possible that someone stole it, found that it was locked, and just dumped it. Just be sure that no place gets the idea that you're trying to get any info from the phone or just get it unlocked.

take off the battery, put it back on and turn on the phone.
