I've done it - shipped a bottle of wine. Pack it real well and no need to let the post office worker know what is in the box. :shifty:

Shipped two bottles of wine home last Christmas. Corked popped open enough to let the wine spill out on one while the other was fine. Also shipped a 12 pack of brews without issue.

You shouldn't have that much of aproblem with it this time of year. Usually if the cork is going to pop on some wine it is due to heat. Although if it gets cold enough the water in the bottle could freeze....which would be bad.
Irish: why did you ship the 12-pack? Just curious? Seems like you can get just about any kind of beer everywhere in the states.

Was from a local brewery back home in Oregon... they don't distribute much, so I shipped some home for a friend.

I know it is illegal in Arizona to ship alcohol by any means(post office, ups etc) because we have friends who belong to a wine club and we get their wine here and they pick it up when they come to San Diego.
