Graf thinks it's really bizarre that I send out Christmas cards, and thinks I'm even crazier for including a Christmas letter. I've done it since college (3 years), and see it as a very handy way to keep in touch with people w/o having to do a lot of effort. It's a yearly "hi! thinking of you, here's what's new with me, have a great holiday & new year!". So, what does everyone else do?

I call people and wish them a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holiday in the case of my non-christmas celibrating family and friends.
I'm not good at keeping current addreses on everybody.

My wife sends out about 80-100 cards. If I wasn't married, maybe I would send out an e-card or 2, but that's about it.

I send out a sperm sample to all the single women in my life. I just enjoy giving them a little piece of me each year. Shows that I care, you know?

Cards only. We actually keep track of who sends us cards as well, and someone goes 2-3 years without sending us one then we drop them off our "send to" list as well. Staying in touch is a two-way street...

Honestly, I'm not really all that big on the card thing... pretty much a waste of paper and a stamp to me.
Someone coming by and saying "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to me (or calling me on the phone just to see how I'm doing over the holidays) means more to me than those "plastic greetings" on those pre-printed cards which ultimately end up in the trash after the holidays. Although, I do make an exception for the "Photo Cards"... since I like getting pics of my friends and can cut the greeting part off if I choose and keep the photo. :D

I like to do photo cards, I mail the ones to people I don't get to see and hand give the ones I get to see, I put them on the present they are getting.
I think this year we are going to do just a picture of the two kids in front of the tree.
i'm doing photo cards this year and putting them on the presents

We usually do a card with a short NON-BRAGGING newsletter to send to folks out of state. Not doing anything this year though, because my dad just died and I just can't bring myself to feel festive.

That's always a bit odd to me - how do you write a non-bragging letter? guess i've never read a bragging letter. you tell about the events of the year, and obviously no one wants to dwell on the bad. i'm always really paranoid about bragging in my letters, cuz I've heard my Grandma complain about them, but the letters she's talking about never seem that bad to me.
sorry to hear about your father though - the first few holidays after the loss of a loved one is really hard.
