I know it's been asked before but new web cams are always coming out. Is anyone here using a web cam on their PC, and if so, can you give a recommendation? Are you using the web cam with proprietary software, or are you using it with AIM/Yahoo/MSN?
Thanks in advance.

i would suggest you stick with a CCD webcam versus a CMOS type webcam.
WinXP can control almost any webcam without their software but if you want to control the zoom/bright/contrast feature you're going to have to install the software. My friend has used his on yahoo all the way to vietnam and it works well. Hope that helps.

Sweet. I understand that AIM now works with webcam so I think that might be a good solution, especially if it can interface with Mac iChat. Thanks for the recommendation for the web cam also.

Which ever one you deside to get, you might want to think about a trackerpod: http://www.trackerpod.com/TCamWeb/index.htm
I used to use mine all the time, great for keeping an eye on the house while you are at work, finding out which of the dogs has been eating your sofa, ect. :D
As for the Camera, I always like the Logic QuickCams
