Darn!!! :dead: i got pulled over last night, right around 9p ....of course i couldn't find my license so they made me get off the car and were about to search me when they found it on the floor. they had me standing outside my truck, it was cold and my hair was wet! ....grrr!!

and to top it off the cop who pulled me over was being trained so there i am for about 40-45 minutes standing in the cold w/my hair wet!! i had a funny chat w/the cop's supervisor, though ....so it wasn't that bad, it was just cold!!

btw, i was pulled over for making an illegal u-turn .....i was so mad at myself, i've been driving for 5 yrs and had a clean record :disa:

Your reccord can still be clean with driving school.
In San Diego we have an attourney that deals with nothing but traffic tickets. You should see if there is one in OC that does the same.

Bummer! You might consider traffic school though, especially since it can keep your insurance premiums from rising due to that ticket.

My friend just completed her traffic school on-line. Just a few minutes of going through the lessons. She could take the final test as many times as she needed to pass, so I guess you could go straight to the test to see if you'd pass without wasting any time.

Around here you can get "supervision" (if you haven't had it within the previous 12 months) for minor violations, which basically means that you pay the fine but nothing shows on your driving record (when your insurance company checks it). You have to stay "clean" for something like the next 3 months, or you can end up being charged for both violations (the original and the one that "broke" the supervision).

In Trenton, NJ all you have to do is show up at the hearing and they will more than likely change the violation to something lesser with no points. They are more concerned about the revenue than giving you points.

well, i checked online and they don't offer the classes there so i have to attend one.

i have to go to court on/before february 2nd ...which gives me enough time if it weren't for my 3 wks vacation i have planned for most of january ...darn!! well, i will go to court and we'll see what the judge says ...if he/she gives the "ok" for traffic school then i'll have 90 days to complete the course.

Last time I checked your insurance does not go up for one ticket. Just pay it and screw wasting time in traffic school. If you get a second ticket within the next year then go for that one but for now who cares. Call your insurance agent and ask just to make sure.

Fight the ticket. A week before the citation is due, mail in bail amount with a copy of the ticket and ask to fight the ticket. Get your court date and show up. Showing up is key. Most of the time the cop will not show. Especially since the county has to pay them to show up and would rather pay them to work the streets and garner more revenue (issue tickets).
If the cop does show up, just explain that this is your 1st ticket in 5 years and ask the judge for traffic school.
I had no tickets for around 5 years and got hit for 2 in 6 months. I should have fought both, but I didn't have to time to go to court a couple times (once to ask to fight it and once for the court date). At traffic school, dude told us to mail it in so we don't have to take any time off and to fight it.
Gl either way.

You can't do traffic school online in Orange County. You have to attend the class at one of its 5 courts (8 hours either on Saturday or 2 Wednesday). There will be OC Sherriffs officers roaming outside the class so you can't ditch or fall as sleep. You will be kicked out if you don't obey the rules and have to repeat. As you could tell, I have experience. :D

Have fun, you have to go to West Court? Jeez, I hate that place. I'd rather get pulled over in LA County just to be able to do online traffic school. Hmm, I think the last time I got pulled over was the last in a series of 3 in a freaking row. No fun. Good thing it's been a couple of years now.

Well I know the line sucks. I swear they're freaking slow. Back in the late 90's I was ticketed and paid for traffic school but ended up sleeping in so I wasted about $120. Just make sure you get to their traffic school on time. I can't tell you anything more than that.

My only other experience there was waiting all day for jury duty and never being put into a jury pool. Idiots.

The sucks that the traffic school is 8 hours. :) I got a ticket in San Diego for doing 82 in a 65 and paid 40$ or something w/Cert. To take a 45 minute class online.

Hey, I have to do it too. Want to hook up and do it together? I'd rather spend eight hours with someone I know from online than sit through the traffic court together.

It could be an impromptu G|A? get together in a Westminster court room.

I got a "passing on the right" violation about 6 months ago, you know when you come up to a stop sign and instead of waiting go over the white line and proceed to the front....

well anyways I'd done this for 5 years consistently and i finally got busted for it. I was honest and admitted it. Usually i play dumb and they let me go. Didn't work this time.

I was going to do traffic school, but i've been driving for 9 years and just turned 25 so i celebrated by paying the fine and being done with it. My insurance went down $500/yr w/ the ticket. Loving it.
