Like maybe a guy who's gone 6 MPH over the speed limit or some other dumb petty crime?

No, when cops have a bad day someone gets hurt. While they are arrogant bastages, they do protect us from ourselves. When they have a bad day it usualy ends up in either one of us or one of them getting hurt.

As for speeding tickets, they don't have a "quota" but they are expected to write a number of tickets within a certain range (but it's not a quota, cause they say so).

No, not really. I was thinking of a ticket I got several years ago on a Sunday morning when I didn't stop on a right turn on red. A sign was posted at the intersection but it wasn't that visible.

Anyway, I was amazed at the beliigerent attitude the guy had over such a dumb offense. He probably had a very bad morning and couldn't wait to take it out on someone.

:blush: yup ...i got a ticket! ....i was making an illegal "u" turn or as the cop wrote on the ticket "disobey posted (no u-turn) sign" who was so nervous he was shaking (he was being trained) :winkie:

A lot of street cops get brow beaten by their superiors when their superiors have a bad day (politics). Do they take it out on us? I would. :|

hey there is one neighborhood here that has it's own police force and they will ticket you for parking one foot too close to a fire hydrent, one mile over the speed limit, and other nit picky things like that.
