View Full Version : Pic Of The Day: San Diego Skyline

It is a little out of focus, but you don't notice it too much. This was Saturday. I watched the PB Christmas Parade and then rode my bicycle downtown to try to get some Christmas shopping done. There were three huge cruise ships getting to head out that night. You can see a Carnival cruise ship on the right side of the picture. Maybe I should photoshop a moon into the sky (that is what happens with most skyline pictures you see with a full moon in- the moon is too bright and would burn out to white otherwise during the long exposure for the city lights).

Nice shot, but as you said the focus is a bit soft. It also looks like there might have been a very subtle movement...but it may just be an effect from the focus issue. Either way, nice work.

cool shot, the jpg compression accentuates the fact that the pic is over sharpened (lots of halos).

other than that it's great!

The halos are just burned highlights. I don't think I sharpened this one. I will get a better one someday. Winter is best because the air is clearer. It also helps that it gets dark earlier so I can ride home sooner.
