her apartment was full of smoke from a fire and she threw her baby out of her 3 story apartment window .....some guy (ironically a baseball catcher) caught him ....he's a newborn btw. :thumb:

Yeah, I saw this on the news last night.
You've gotta assume that if she held the baby and jumped out, the downward gravitational pull of her hitting the ground would likely knock her off her feet (if she was lucky enough to have landed on her feet while holding the baby) and then she'd probably drop the baby accidentally. This was her only option, really.

There were like 6-7 people there who could've caught the baby...I don't think it would've ended in tradgedy (thank God). :)

Takes a lot of fear and faith to drop your child to a person 3 stories down.
It looked to me like there were 3 people actively trying to catch the baby.
It reminds me of a cartoon I once saw. I think it was in Mad magazine. A mother throws her baby out of the window in a burning building to a waiting football player. The player catched the baby safely and then does a victory dance enidng in him spiking the "ball". I'm glad this ended differently. :P
