So I needed to renew a webname and decided to take advantage of the $2.99 a year domain registration at yahoo that has been featured on the deals page. I am currently registered through dotster.com. I went ahead and paid for 5 years and then went about trying to transfer it. Lo and behold, yahoo doesn't do transfer, only redelegation. I am lost as to what this means.
Redelegation procedures varies slightly depending on your registrar, but many registrars will allow you to make this change yourself online on the company's web site. When you contact your registrar, you'll need to provide it with Yahoo!'s name server information. Remember that you simply need to ask your registrar to change your name server information to point to Yahoo!'s servers. Does that mean I have to pay Dotster in order to point to yahoo to then point to my webpage? This makes no sense to me and any help would be appreciated.

Redelegation is just a complicated term for the straightforward process of using a domain you already own with a Yahoo! Small Business service, such as Business Mail, Web Hosting or Merchant Solutions. We welcome you to do so and the steps you'll need to follow and frequently asked questions are outlined below

Where are you hosting the website?

Do that mean that he has to use a Yahoo hosting service, or can he continue to use the service he currently uses?

Have a host, just need to renew my domain. Doesn't look like this is what I want. Wonder how I cancel my order?
