I was playinig around with some distortions you can do in Photoshop Elements. This one is called Polar Coordinates which seems to grab a picture from the two bottom corners and draw them up until they meet at the top and then it distorts the rest of the picture in proportion to the move. I used it once on the Rip Curl picture. This started out as the picture of a zygo cactus blossom (sometimes called a Christmas Cactus since they tend to bloom in winter) and gave it a few different rotations and distortions. I did clean up a couple of areas I did not like. It really came out pretty amazing. Because of its location in the original picture, the stamen did not get as distorted as the rest of the flower and it is still recognizable. The background was grey and black so I am not sure where the blue came from. This is fun to play around with. I did not keep track of the steps I used on it so I cannot recreate it. Definately different from what you normally see from me!
