I am always amazed at the number of Elvis impersonators who show up at the Karaoke events I attend. There are a few who can copy his voice and his body movements, but many are really bad at both.
I never cared for him when he first appeared and I still don't. His voice was monotonous and wimpy. I just can't figure what attracts people to his music.

please..Elvis was a total hottie..until he got old..I saw him in concert not too long before his death..and while he didn't have the quality he had back in the beginning it was still a great performance.

When all I knew of was the "White Polyester Jumpsuit Elvis", I didn't get it either. But his earlier movies and music rock!
He was hot and he made some excellent, ground breaking music.
Not a huge fan, but I don't turn off Viva Las Vegas if it is on!

This is totally unacceptable blasphemy! Have you never watched Blue Hawaii,
Jailhouse rock etc?? I remember when Love Me Tender came out in theatres.
Tissue sales went thru the roof. It is just too bad HE didn't realize how good he was and take care of himself. And of course ,Eminem will probably live to be 103. No justice. O Hail mighty Elvis, may your voice be heard until the end of time!:king:

I really like Elvis' raw Sam Phillips-influenced Sun Records stuff. I am a major rockabilly junkie, though. He got so commercial and manufactured once Col. Tom got hold of him. The RCA and later stuff didn't have the appeal to me of his Sun recordings.
The '68 Comeback Special was magic, though... Young people - don't judge Elvis musically until you see it for yourself.
