I hate Kobe Bryant. For exactly the reason you mentioned. 100% full of himself/selfish. He's got talent and ability - sure. But IMHO he's severely overrated. All these "he's the next Jordan"...bleh. There will never be another MJ.

And there will never be another kobe bryant. Damn that was amazing. I like hearing the interviews after that game. All the players are saying how he was hot and you have to feed the fire.

i'm not really faulting him for shooting that much because yes he was hot and you do have to keep giving him to ball. And if you're hot, you don't pass the ball.

I'm not really faulting him for anything really. Nice game.

Just to clear some hate....
Kobe was on fire by the 3rd quarter and scored 30 points in the 3rd quarter alone. Lakers were up by 30 and Kobe sat down to start the 4th. Phil asked #8 at the 9 minute mark if he wanted to go back in. Kobe said it was up to Phil. Phil said the Lakers were up by 30 and Kobe agreed to stay on the bench.
He could have easily gotten 9+ more points and broke the Lakers scoring record, but did the right thing. If it had been a close game, Kobe would have went for 80, but the W was all that mattered.
Christmas day will be very interesting. :wavey2:
Btw, new staples record for points. The old one was 61 and was held by shaq.

All the Laker/Kobe haters are all going to point out that he had 0 assist but in that 3rd quarter you could see his teammates were trying to get him the ball. The last couple of week the lakers have been playing some really good ball.

It is good that they benched him. If he was throwing up those kind of numbers against me in a blow out and kept coming....well let's just say someone would get fouled REAL HARD. Nobody likes having their noses rubbed in it. Coming out was the right thing to do.

I figured the history you meant was the fact that the Lakers are still behind the Clippers this late in the season. My bad.

Ehh, I'm a Lakers hater; that's well known. I'll give Kobe props though for doing 62 in 3. That's pretty impressive. What's not impressive about LAL is how a. they're not that good this year; b. Kwame hasn't panned out at all; and c. they're going to finish waaaay behind the Clip Show this year. That should be more than enough to ruffle Buss' @sscheeks...:hihi:

My Clippers are doing good this year! My prediction will come true again. :woohoo:

Actually Jason Terry was called for a flagrant for closelining Kobe. I think he got a little frustrated with Kobe's scoring AND Kobe's strong D that kept Terry at 2 of 10 shooting.

I won't make any predictions about the Clippers as the team and the season are still young, but if Sterling keeps the core guys intact next season they just might become a winning team year after year :)

What's funny here is that I dont think you even watch basketball. Lakers have been playing much better than the clippers over the last 10 games. After a horrible start, the show is now 14-11. Kwame has been playing very well. Good D, rebounds and his confidence is up. They are starting to jel and the team D is one of the best in the league right now.
The Lakeshow is only going to get better and looks like your poor clippers have already peaked.
btw, what is this clip show you're talking about? Defenses around the league already have your "show" figured out. You're "awesome" start is nothing more than an average start for the real Show.

I've bookmarked this thread, we'll be checking back after 82 games have been completed. :hehehmm:

The Kwame comments are almost laughable...but hey, time will tell. We'll see...

cmon now, who thought kwame would actually start playing like a 1st pick when he came to the lakers? after multiple disappointing years in DC, do you really think he would metamorphosi by changing teams?

This late in the season? Haven't even hit the all-star break. I think clipper fans are getting a little to excited. In the last 10 games they are 5-5 and are only 1 game up on the lakers since they lost again last night.

We're talking about the Clippers. Being ahead of any team this late in the season is pretty impressive. It's not exactly the NBA's most storied franchise. ;)
