One of my computers is 7 years old. I got a warning that my CMOS battery is low. Who sells them and how can I find what kind it is before I take it out? It's a PcChips MB.

take the battery out and look at what type it is, they should sell them at most drug stores.

I had a feeling it was that. but, I'm to intimidated by all the knowitalls on G|A so its just safer to wait to share my computer knowledge.

How old are those computers of yours? What if it's one of those batteries that is soddered in? I've always wondered if those can be replaced.

Honestly, I always buy either Duracells or Energizer watch batteries... I tend to trust them more than the generics that they sell at Radio Shack.

Soldered batteries can be replaced, if you can find an appropriate replacement cell. You have to de-solder the existing cell and remove it, then just solder in the new battery.
