How many movie DVDs do you OWN as of today? (Lets make this a bit easier and count box set as one.) Then at the end of the year I'll post asking how many you own. Lets have some fun and see who is the biggest DVD buff! And also who owns the largest collection at the start of the year versus the end of the year.
Maybe we may have a contest? Like who has the biggest collection and who has the most improved collection? Or maybe one for who owns the oddest collection? I'll talk it over with the admin. and see what they think.
Anyways, I'll start off in starting 2006 with 84 movie DVDs. :king:

9 (I'm counting my Godfather series box set as three, dammit). And 4 of them are TV seasons.

125. (While I'm counting TV boxsets as 1, something like the Star Wars Trilogy boxset counts as 3).

i know i own more than 10, but i'm not sure exactly how many.
and as far as an increasing collection, i don't think i'll win, because i don't have the money (or the desire, to be honest) to own anything but those few movies i know i can watch over and over and over again, and that's not very many.

No, because as I'm sure everyone here remembers, we don't discuss illegal activites on the board.

Boxed sets as one DVD? Now is that fair? I think not. If I have the entire Star Trek Set that should count as 8 or 9 movies.
I can see counting a season of a TV series as one, but if I can buy it individualy, it should be counted seperately.
I have between 400 and 500 DVDs, depending on how you count.

Ok, counting TV season boxed sets as one DVD (excluding the Monty Python Series) I have 424 DVDs I would have another 60 if I counted all the discs in the series.

Using DVD Profiler, 701 (Boxed sets counting as one), or 787 (counting individual movies). Boxed sets shouldn't be counted as one, for instance the Ultimate Oliver Stone collection has 13 movies. I count that as 13, not one.

I stopped counting years ago when I went over the 300 mark. Although I have to admit I hardly buy any movies anymore as they keep releasing better editions of them which annoys me. I have been planning on updating my collection list for insurance purposes, but havent gotten to it yet.

I have 75 or 80, I think . . . but won't be adding much (if at all) to it in 2006 since I am abroad.

I stopped counting at 400 :)
My kids will call me and say "mom can you send me these specific movies"..then I mail them out-or drop them off and they keep them for two weeks or so and send them back..like our own family netflix! (I'm obsessed with movies and so are my girls-so the majority of the movies were purchased by the three of us)..what we have tried to do was to replace all of our VHS tapes -plus any other movies we have seen come out on DVD that we liked..
