California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was slightly injured in a minor traffic accident Sunday, the governor's office said.

The Sacramento Bee said Schwarzenegger was traveling on his motorcycle with his son Patrick in a sidecar, when another driver backed into the street in front of Schwarzenegger's bike.

Press Secretary Margita Thompson, released a statement late Sunday saying the governor received 15 stitches to repair a cut lip after the accident, which occurred near his home in Los Angeles. She said Schwarzenegger was traveling at a low rate of speed when accident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. PST.

Thompson said both Schwarzenegger and his son were wearing helmets and were discharged from St. John's Hospital after treatment for minor cuts and bruises. She said the other driver was not injured.

Gov. Schwarzenegger and his son are both at home this evening, Thompson's statement said. The governor is expected to keep previously scheduled appointments (Monday).

I loved hearing it this morning on the news and how they really clarified that he was NOT SPEEDING!

Im sorry, unless your 90 and can barely push the gas (or brake) then you will speed!

Best comment I heard was "How would you like to have been the one who backed into the Governor? "
