yup, I've even done with a usb 2.0 thumb drive.

I don't see why not.. All you'd need is the .ISO file to be under 5GB and you can do it. :D (that and a copy of the Daemon tools to mount the image so that you can play it with your normal DVD software)

My Sandisk Cruzer mini flash drive is 4.0GB and I got a movie in there to watch it at school..

Get a copy of DVDFab Platinum and AnyDVD. It's the easiest way to copy them and pass them to a external HD of USB drive.

You might want to invest some time on learning how to convert to DIVX / XVID. Entire movies can be recompressed to under 700MB, as long as you have a P3-or better computer to play them on.
That would be a great source for emulated roms too...and such a great deal!
