Following our big day with the discovery of the ancient Homer text, our crew decided to relax and take in the other local site, the one known as "Ocean Beach Pier". While we were not pivy to any of their ritual sacrafices of virgins, there was still a good show as the sun was lowered until it disappeared below the horizon in a blaze of color. I had not seen such a display before, but the locals assured me that it happend quite often here- almost daily. We shall have to return to this area to investigate it further. We were told that most of the sacrifices occur after dark- perhaps as an offering to their moon god.
