Is it WinXP Pro or NT, or is it a Mac laptop?

*edit* In case it's WinXP, it is Documents and Settings-> Username-> Application Data(hidden)-> Mozilla-> Firefox-> Profiles

If you have an external case, you can hook it up to another comp via USB, then go to My Computer-> Manage ->Disk Management -> Format. If you don't have a case, then just boot up off of Windows XP, start setup, then format it.

Darik's boot and nuke.
http://dban.sourceforge.net/

will totally wipe and irreperably overwrite any data on the disk.

Formatting a hard drive is NOT a secure way to delete all information. You need a program that actually "wipes" the information.

If you intend to be able to use the hard drive again, that might be a poor solution. Some better ones are in this recent thread (http://forums.gotapex.com/showthread.php?t=95605).

He said erase, not zero  I figured he meant he was going to use it again for personal use, in which case a simple format is sufficient, don't you think? But you're right, formatting is not secure.

*edit* I re-read his first post and it says he is returning the lappy to his work. Good call Markel, he's gotta do something more than format.
